Tuition-Free Preschool in Houston, Texas

At Lawson Pre-K, we offer PK3 & PK4 programs. For our programs, your child must be 3 or 4 years old by September 1 of the school year they are applying for.

To enroll your child in Lawson PreK program, certain requirements must be met: 

• Age: Children must be three or four years old on or before September 1st of the current school year.
• Residency: Families must provide proof of residence, such as a utility bill or lease agreement.
• Meet one eligibility criteria: Income, language, SNAP, TANF, foster care, active duty, or Texas Star Award.

01 Online Application: Parents can apply online through our application form.

02 Prequalification: Our agents will guide you to see if you qualify for the free program. 

03 Registration: School will extend an offer. Parents must complete the registration forms and submit documentation before a start date is issued.

04 Documentation: The parent needs to submit full documentation such as a birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency.

05 Onboarding: The child is ready to start, and the parent will receive instructions to be ready for the school year. Uniforms, supplies, schedule, etc.

We are more than a daycare! We offer a variety of Pre-K 3 & 4 programs: English language classroom support, full-day, half-day, and extended-day options to meet the needs of different families. We do all of this while being free of cost or highly affordable for families. 

Yes! We welcome tours for prospective parents to come and tour our licensed daycare and preschool. Current parents are always welcome to come and visit our school! 

We at Lawson Pre-K understand that accidents happen with preschool-aged children. If a child has more than two voiding accidents a week then the parents will be asked to come and change their child after each accident. Lawson Pre-K does not allow pull-ups or diapers.

If a child has a bowel movement then parents will be called to change their child. Please keep in mind that Lawson Pre-K staff members will not wipe a child after a bowel movement.

Please be sure to pack an extra pair of clothes (shirt, underwear, pants, socks, etc) for your child in case they have an accident. Lawson Pre-K has limited sizes and extra clothing available for accidents.

Our preschool hours are as follows: Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5:00pm 

We have uniforms for preschoolers. Upon enrollment, you'll be able to purchase your uniforms on site.

 Yes, our preschool will provide free, healthy meals for all students. Lawson Pre-K is a part of the Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP) which ensures that the food we serve is prepared according to the high-quality standards established by the USDA.
